Hiding rooms to avoid HIP's |
British homeowners would consider disguising bedrooms in order to avoid preparing a Home Information Pack, according to a survey by Abbey. Research found that 8.5 million people living in houses with three or more bedrooms would consider calling their third bedroom a study or playroom to avoid the packs. But Nici Audhlam-Gardiner, head of mortgages at Abbey, said homeowners risk losing out: “By re-marketing your home as a two-bedroom house, you'll become invisible to thousands of potential buyers searching specifically for three or four bedrooms and above.”
